This activity has been devised to formalize the Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship application process, and to allow applicants and program directors to consider every option for training without undue pressure being placed on either party. Institutions participating in the TSDA Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship Match must be accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

The TSDA Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship Match is conducted solely by the Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship Subcommittee, which consists of the President of the TSDA or his/her designated TSDA member representative, the Chair of the TSDA Congenital Program Directors Committee and the Chair of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS) or his/her designated ABTS director representative. The Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) offer separate and distinct services that are not utilized for the TSDA Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship Match.
