| Between September 1976 and December 1997, 223 Marfan patients underwent aortic root replacement at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. There were 168 males and 63 females and the number of patients having composite graft repair, aortic root homograft, and valve-sparing procedures are indicated. Whereas only two valve-sparing procedures were performed between 1976 and 1997, during the past 12 months (1998) seven of the 13 Marfan patients undergoing aortic root repair at our center had the valve-sparing procedure. | ||
