In figure E, interrupted mattress sutures have been placed in the aortic annulus. When the coronary ostia are low-lying, it is easier to create a side-to-side anastomosis of the coronary ostia to the graft by placing the mattress sutures below the aortic annulus rather than everting the annulus. In figure G, an ostia has been created in the Dacron graft with the cautery and a direct anastomosis is created to the left coronary ostia using a 4-0 polypropylene suture.
